Maly - Re: "Those are the two definitions in question. An indictment to me is the judgement of the grand jury that there is a valid case."

Were you born an idiot or did you have to work at it ?

New World Dictionary definition: the formal and unanimous finding of a jury on the matter submitted to them in a trial

A Grand Jury may issue an indictment with less than a majority vote. Evidence is submitted to a Grand Jury by the prosecutor only -- there is no trial -- and the accused gets no chance to present evidence. Witnesses are not even entitled to have an attorney present.

Helpful Hint: Prosecutors do not use the New World dictionary as a guide for obtaining an Indictment.

An Indictment is a Grant Jury accusation. The only "accusations" we saw were from Rush Limbaugh, Jerry Falwell and assorted Republicans.

No Grand Jury ever issued an Indictment of Bill Clinton.
