Eddie does seem like a pleasant fellow to hang with, and Wolfgang liked to party, so maybe you are right. On the other hand, although a splendid guitarist running a tight unit, he is only a fair composer. I suppose that someone with a stronger track record for composing, with whom one could have an understanding, like Paul McCartney or Bob Dylan would have suited better.

Ever heard a two album set by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (with guest artists) called "Will The Circle Be Unbroken"? A great country/bluegrass album........
