Your comments are right on the mark. As the www develops it's own content who needs AMER? Any information is available on the internet. A simple personal example of the power of the internet to gain information makes my point: I've been looking for the name of a song which was played during the dance scene in "Scent of a women." I found the names of people associated with a "Tango" search on Yahoo and sent an e-mail to a couple of people asking for help. Within and hour I had the answer from two people! Amazing! AMER will be around for the beginner to novice and some mini-users, but for the experienced user AMER makes zero sense to me. The only thing that stops me from shorting it now is bad memories! Unfortunately, the general investing community associates AMER subscriber activity to the popularity of the internet. So the trials of AMER will hurt other stocks in the short run (ie. networking, ISP's). How does your brother like ATT? I have PSI net and consistently connect at 24k or 26.6k. We have a local ISP at work and connect at 19k with the same modem. What's the connect rate for ATT? Regards, gw
