I never got that lucky: either such a revealing event never occurred to me or I wasn't able to recognize it if/when it did. I had to go through basic beliefs correction by listing them and writing down "mantras" that worded beliefs I wanted to ingrain. I was repeating them during meditation, physical exercises etc. I still return to it when I feel that some of those "settings" need to be reinforced.
List of basic beliefs to be corrected was formed from several books, mostly using Mark Douglas' one.
Then I went 1 step further and made a list of mantras for morning tune-up, for some specific situations calling for minor (or not so minor) corrections.
It requires certain level of experience in "listening to oneself". Yoga and meditation help, martial arts help.
