Intel punished twice with p4 - lower yields and larger size. Obviously Intel counts on .13 or otherwise there would be no 50% p4s by 2002. .13 is not a done deal yet and hence represent the risk that is not common for Intel. Would you think with 100% certainty that there would be no transition problems for Intel? Keep in mind that when amd bet their "farm" amd was a risky venture and priced as such. Intel on another hand is not considered as risky as amd and hence can not afford bets
