Tom,nice to hear from you. We think that the following post on RB by Canuck-Yankee is the most insightful posting we have seen in a long time and will post it here without comment as it needs no input from us. Our sources say this is just the start. But as always patience is needed. We have always believed that we have a winner. The validity is now proven.Tracker has changed from a cuccoon[sic] to a butterfly via the system they developed while working with Sony. Our understanding is that Symbol now has to develop their systems to augment Tracker's advanced abilities. That's a switch!!

Some interesting insights from the Tracker Web-Site.
News of the Warrantech deal is now posted on the Tracker Website with one very important addition and a key change in Tracker's "handle". Also, can you say RFID?
1) Symbol
>>>Bruce Lewis, CEO of Tracker, stated, "Our agreement with Symbol will enhance Tracker's marketing efforts and afford Tracker's customers the assurances that a billion dollar company backs Tracker's products and services."<<<
This reafirms Symbols commitment and involvement with Tracker. I have always said the Symbol relationship runs much deeper than just a "supply arrangement" for scanners.
2) Tracker's handle.
>>>>The Tracker Corporation of America is a company that develops, markets, sells and operates asset management, inventory control and personal property identification and recovery systems using advanced barcode and laser scanning technology.<<<<
Apparently Tracker is no longer a "development stage company".
3) RFID
From the Technology Overview - Labels and Tags - at the assettrack link "Can utilize Radio Frequency tags"
This is very significant. For those of you not familiar with this technology, an RFID tag is a label with an embedded Radio Frequency emitter. There are passive tags and active tags. Passive tags use the RF energy from an RFID reader to broadcast information including but not limited to identity back to a handheld device. Active tags have there own energy source and broadcast information on their own. Think of a PDF barcode that is scanned from a foot away, but now instead of scanning the information, it is broadcast from the item itself and that information is received by a handheld that is within a 2ft to 30ft radius. The signifcance of this is enormous (I will post more on this later). In general, Tracker is embracing other types of technology that complement and expand it's core business strategy.
What is Tracker's mission? IMHO here it is. Some of it currently exists, the rest of it will come.
"To be an Internet based Application Service Provider (ASP) that utilizes multiple existing and emerging technologies including; PDF14, RFID, Bluetooth, 802.11b, IP based Electronic Serial Number(ESN's), and GPS, to identify, catalogue, and track property and assets; to provide secure access to this information contained within Trackers proprietary database via the World Wide Web anywhere anytime; to support multiple forms of connectivity to the internet including; direct network connection, PPP dial up, wireless LAN, and Wireless WAN, across multiple hardware platforms including; vertical handhelds (Symbol), PDA's like Palm, Hanspring, Clie (SONY), and 3G cell phones (NOKIA, Motorola); and finally, to provide a 24/7 service to help customers recover lost property, analize product movements, provide demographic marketting information for corporate clients, and institute Customer Relationship Management (CRM) programs."
NOW THAT WAS A MOUTHFUL!
We have one contract. I believe there are many more to come."
