The big question: is EMC willing to eat their young? May I kindly disagree with you? The big question is: Will EMC ever be able to make a NAS file server format anywhere near as good as WAFL. I'm sure you know that many have tried and failed. Many are trying and failing right now. Quite bluntly, if EMC fails to come up with a competitive NAS format, it won't matter what they do.
