Neocon,

I don't think we are that far apart regarding talent and context. I believe there are many levels of talent. I think a guy like Mozart, born today, would be looking for the big bucks. Crafting some pop for the masses or whatever paid the way. I guess what I am getting at is there is this top level of talent, and this level will be able to adapt to the instrument of the day. I consider very few to be in this group. It about having the ability, as the mechanics of a specific instrument can be learned. My entire point with Eddie is that he is one of these rare types. It matters not that he choose hard rock to display it. I am certain I would have found him had it been piano or trumpet.

Windham Hill, quite frankly, sucks the big egg. Some of the worst music ever. I don't even consider some of it music. And there is the joke. The guy who started Windham Hill "finds" Micheal Hedges and cuts a "New Age" album. Hedges music does not belong with the rest, but its stuck with the Windham Hill logo and in "those" bins at the music store. When you hear it you will understand. Like I said, the guy might have been a genius.

Yes, the Napster case is a tough one. I don't claim to have any real legal opinion on this, as I don't understand the laws well enough. I just know that the direct conduit for distribution crosses the copyright lines; even if Napster claims that they don't warehouse the product. Its a complex case and I look forward to Boies losing it; even if it means no more free music for me. Its just bad business.
