Your caution in light of the current situation makes sense to me. The distortion of valuation created by massive indexing has yet to be widely recognized and unwound, IMO. I don't see broad index plays as a viable long term strategy at the moment. So unless a person is prepared to actively trade the indexes, or stray off the beaten path, the sidelines might be the best place to be. BWDIK?
