Didn't slavery and genocide happen with God's blessing, and on occasion his direction in the bible? I don't take my believes against the two from that book. Nor find it less repugnant than many, I don't imagine. I think it is more progressive to come to those believes based on our own thoughts and hearts, than on what another being, even if it is a God, tells us.
