Regardless of the opinion that might have prevailed at one time, if one regards abortion as wrong, that is the starting point. It is like saying that at one time the Church had a more liberal attitude about slave- holding. So what? Gee, we could ease population growth by forced sterilization, too, and that is not considered homicide by anyone, but most civilized persons would object. So if a given country engaged in forced sterilizations, and Bush made medical aid contingent on stopping the practice, would you go into a rant about girls being sold into prostitution? |
