This in from UBS Warburg quoting the Australian Financial Review:

Centaur, the Aussie gold producer may be going into voluntary bankruptcy. According to company quarterly from Dec, 2000, they had 1.6 million oz. hedged and 2.6 million * committed and hedged.

* Not exactly sure what those double figures mean; hedged versus "committed" and hedged, but this is the sort of thing that I see coming regularly. The question is of course about continued production to deliver the gold, but the creditors may have to do that, and I don't see it as likely. If that's the case, then positions will have to closed out and that means substantial buying pressure.
