Sonny ---thought I would respond in two messages :
( you can only pay down so much of the natl. debt without creating trouble ). True ---some of the debt would have to be bought back at a premium because it cannot be call ahead of time .
We are basically saying the same thing ---the federal tax cut should go back to the people ( to the 50% that are paying taxes ). Should not be use for payroll taxes which are other people paying for their social security retirement.
The real question I have is would you and me spend a projected surplus in our budget at the house for the next ten years knowing that things change ? How do you spend something you do not have in hand ? Granted Congress has been doing that for years ---would rather have a smaller tax cut and revisit the issue in three years especially with the wonderful job the FED is doing with the economy .
Speaking of Bush and the military --the approach he has taken of reducing the nuclear warhead pile from 7000 to 3000 and spending the funds to increase the readiness of the armed forces to me make sense . Plus it is nice to see him stay out of the Clinton issues .
I have some cash reserves left and am thinking of either averaging down in the stocks I am down in or buying something else to diversify ? Any suggestions ?

BEST WISHES
BILL
