Doc,

With so much human genome news coming out this week I decided to take a stroll through the genome database at genome.ucsc.edu

This article, nytimes.com describes the location of WRN, the gene responsible for Werner's Syndrome, the premature aging affliction that no doubt haunts most members of this thread. Here is the gene's location about 34 million base pairs from the start of chromosome 8 - look for WRN on the left: genome.ucsc.edu

Hit "zoom out x10" a couple of times to see all of chromosome 8 in its full 140 million base pair glory. WRN is a couple of pages down.

Enjoy - let us know if you can find any explanation for some flunking the sex test today.

P.S. The SI speller flags genome as an error.
