Shorts are definitely a concern if it is extraordinary or new since the merger was announced. If large brokerages held the shorts, it may be a two year problem in share value. Mr. Welsh has to talk to the specialist to talk to the bull pan bosses. No one wants to spoil our wealth.

Granted, that people like to compare his judgement of GE based on his opinion of priceline and others, who give away their companies on the net or elsewhere. Good management do not give away someone else's store like priceline did either.

Granted, GE may have cold feet about now; but details in the merger has to be studied in deep. Quick decisions are not wise at this time period.

On the other hand, GE usually languish after the split. It took two years to split 1 for 1. Then it took three years to split 1 for 3. Good luck, HON may shorten the time it takes to split again. If you don't manage any companies, you wouldn't see the difference how companies are run. They are not all the same, you put in the controls and watch them bloom all at the same time.
