Hi Keith, The Historical analysis was run on the IXBT from 1/1/96 to 12/31/00 which would be the whole melon and the supped up version after it changed. It also includes the relatively quite period from beginning of 96 to Q3 98 and the big up and down in Q1 2000.

I ran 750 and it came out 377%. I also changed the cash reserve. My original work was done with 25%. I tried 33% and got 336% and 50% cash reserve gave me 222%.

Bottom line over this long period SAFE of 5-5, 500 min trade and 25% cash reserve produced the best results. I might add that none of them beat buy & hold. It was 551%.

I am curious of how the difference in min transaction size effects return. I thought the minimum only effected the commission impact on the transaction. I will have to go back and look at Bernie's posts on this subject over on the AIM board.
