Globe says Falconbridge, CAW under pressure to settle Falconbridge Ltd FL Shares issued 177,041,400 Feb 13 close $17.49 Wed 14 Feb 2001 In the News The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, Feb. 14, edition that unnamed analysts say the mounting costs of a seven-month strike could force Falconbridge and the Canadian Auto Workers to settle their differences when talks resume this week. The Globe's In Brief column reports that Falconbridge has said it will consider restarting full production at its nickel mines, mill and smelter at Sudbury, Ont., without using the 1,260 strikers, unless the dispute ends soon.
