robert, mind you -I don't say this with a whole lot of confidence- but I think we have had our day of "max pain" in this sector back in december of last year when a confluence of negative factors -including year end tax loss selling- prevailed in the market. this most recent downtrend in the semi-equipment makers has been characterized by relatively low volume and on some days the sector has completely ignored bad news...My thinking is that some value players have already established some positions in these stocks and they won't be shaken out which will serve as putting a higher "floor" in these stocks. just my 2cents worth. regards
