Helsinki Television and Portal Software to Provide Revolutionary Cable Services for Home Users
CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 12, 2001--Portal Software, Inc. (Nasdaq:PRSF - news), a leading provider of business infrastructure software for broadband, wireless Internet, and next-generation communications services, today announced that Helsinki Television (HTV), a Finnish cable television company, has selected Infranet®, Portal Software's customer management and billing platform. HTV will implement Infranet to manage its recently announced portfolio of broadband Internet services.
There are approximately 200 cable operators in Finland with HTV being the largest. In order to maintain its competitive position HTV has launched a variety of broadband services to its existing customers. With Portal's real-time technology, HTV will have the business agility it needs to quickly bring these new services to market, manage revenue, and improve customer satisfaction.
