Agile, Manugistics Announce Formation of Strategic Alliance Alliance to Provide Robust Integrated Solution to Maximize Value for Customers
ROCKVILLE, Md. and SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Agile Software Corporation (Nasdaq: AGIL), a leading provider of collaborative manufacturing commerce solutions, and Manugistics Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: MANU), the leading global provider of Enterprise Profit Optimization(TM) (EPO) solutions -- the powerful combination of supply chain management and pricing and revenue optimization solutions -- for enterprises and marketplaces, today announced that they have agreed to enter into a strategic alliance to provide better integration between collaborative manufacturing commerce and enterprise profit optimization management.
Following completion of a final agreement, Agile's collaborative manufacturing commerce solutions will be integrated with the core optimization applications in the Manugistics NetWORKS(TM) solutions suite to provide a more comprehensive solution designed to maximize value for customers. Initial target markets for the joint solution include electronics & high technology, apparel, footwear and textiles, with other markets expected to follow.
"The Manugistics and Agile comprehensive solution will be designed to allow our customers to more effectively collaborate on product content, procure materials, and optimize demand planning and forecasting in real time," said Greg Owens, Manugistics chairman and chief executive officer. "Alliances such as ours with Agile demonstrate Manugistics' leadership in developing comprehensive solutions that can be quickly implemented to enable strong return on investment."
Manugistics NetWORKS solutions -- which include collaborative services, intelligent optimization engines, and integration and marketplace platforms -- are designed to address mission critical supply-side and demand-side business processes, to help companies increase revenue, decrease costs, and improve customer service.
"Manugistics is offering innovative capabilities in collaborative supply chain management," said Bryan D. Stolle, chairman and CEO of Agile. "We believe that the ability to directly tie product changes with collaborative planning will give customers a heretofore unrealized ability to immediately assess the supply chain impact of changes and allow real-time synchronization."
Agile's collaborative manufacturing commerce solutions enable companies to use the Internet to effectively automate the distribution and synchronization of product content across the e-supply chain as well as provide buyers the ability to exchange and collaborate with suppliers on sourcing and the procurement of direct materials.
