There is no evidence for absolute moral standards. There is certainly evidence that we are wired to be social- and morality- social customs- are compatible with our social wiring.

There is no consistency across time, or across countries- about what is moral. May I suggest everyone here read a fascinating book called Guns, Germs and Steel. It might not bring you around, but at least you'll be more educated.

Now I really must go and corrupt some 3rd graders with Valentine's Day goodies.
