E! Gee, wish I had known Bill F. was a commentator on SI... He is a breath of fresh air amongst the sewerage pits and garbage dumps inhabited by the great unwashed hordes of "experts" and "analysts". He was about the only counter to the really excessive hyper-hype bulls last year, and he darned near got beaten up by some of them for adding a voice of reason -- a controntration by Joe Battipaglia particularly comes to mind --- and Bill was exactly correct, while Joe was dead wrong.
Wish I had said some of the things Bill has said about Greenspan -- I've been too easy on him, but Bill pulls no punches: eg
"After reading his comments, I can't believe that any thinking adult can conclude that Greenspan knows anything" . Well, that's a trifle too exclusive -- I'm sure Alan knows his own name, and where he lives, for example. But what he knows about the markets would not, imho, be all that helpful in determining how to make a buck. BTW, I have heard previously that Alan has been conspicuously unsuccessful in his own investments, and has resorted to holding mainly treasury issues, relying on a nice government salary and a prospectively great pension for his security. He has no reason to give a damn about the equity markets, if that is true....
Anyway, thanks for that link to Fleck's page...
