Soupy hangs out with Joey Reynolds these days, wor710.com and they recently did a show at New York's Bottom Line club (where I was once interviewed for a job in 1978 and watched my friend's husband play keyboards for Johnny Paycheck of Take this Job and Shove It! I ain't workin' here no more..... fame) Soupy calls in over the air from time to time, and he brings back fond memories..... I will never forget the time I was watching the show over WNEW-TV in NYC when he told the "little kids out there" to go find their daddy's wallets when he was sleeping and send in those little green pieces of paper with pictures of old men on them to him to keep the show on the air or something like that, but that is what actually ended up helped getting him fired! There was a big uproar over that infamous incident. Then there was his line where he talks about his girlfriend Peaches and says "She's a lousy cook and don't know how to make apple pie, but she sure knows how to make my banana creamy!" Believe it or not, in 1965 I did'nt get that disguised joke, and wondered why my mother was laughing out loud! Duhhh..... (that also did not help to keep the show on the air, but I loved the guy) Yogi
