perhaps avid has 'lowered the bar' as far as guiding analyist forward leaving themselves to easily beat their numbers.

I think you're correct not to expect any earning pre-announcements. the numbers to make (.11) are not that high and alot of business usually gets back ending into the last month or last couple of weeks.
