126,000 Block trade (Buy Order) just before the bell.

That was the largest trade I've seen on Genrad. Looks like
someone thinks that 18 1/8 is a cheap price for this company.

So the announcement is next week. Curious as to the timing of this
trade. Makes you think. Will Genrad have an analyst & institutional investor meeting to discuss the impact to Genrad of the
decision? Will they make an announcement if they lose or just if they win?

If Hickok were to win ($11 Million Market capitalization) I
believe that that stock would go crazy. The only problem with
Hickok is that there is a $3 spread between the bid and ask
and there are weeks were the stock doesn't even trade.

If Hewlett-Packard were to win, the company is so large with such
large revenues, that I would have to believe that this would have
minimal impact on the stock price.

If Genrad were to win, then this stock is seriously under valued.

I don't know that much about Siemans, Vektronix, Edge, or SPX.

How interested is Hewlett-Packard in the future business of automotive
diagnostics? Interested enough that if they lose to a smallcap
that they might buy them out to get the contract and very
possibly all future worldwide diagnostic business for all of Ford, Lincoln-Mercury, Aston-Martin, Jaguar, and Mazda. As well as potentially some of their associate businesses such as Kia or
Mahindra-Mahindra (India)?

P.S. In regards to that contract with the "Unnamed" European automotive division:

I spoke with someone at Genrad, and they said that they have 2
European clients that in general (for whatever reason) do not
want it publicly known that they have diagnostic contracts with
Genrad. Believe that this is for company political reasons.

So, this was not related in any way to the Ford contract.

Regards,
Jeff
