Graphics company Nvidia earnings top expectations

Note:I believe this company will tremendously enhance the Broadband
experience that JDSU will provide. They make a Graphics Microprocessor
for 3 Dimesion Visualization of PC images,
the GeForce 256 which can process over
200 billion operations per second, is 3 times as fast
and more calculations than a Pentium 4, and increases the
PC's ability to render high-definition 3D scenes in real-time:;

They just bought out Company No. 2, TDFX. Their processor will provide all the visual beauty
that can come out from a PC, laptop and handhelds with all the rich textures. They are the No. 1
game chip and will now go into B2B chips and MSFT game box.

I am pointing out not just because of possibly looking into it as an investments
( my son, Comp.Eng. student and avid game player loves it )
but also as an indication of the continues power and stay of
PCs and the semiconductor market.

I totally agree with you t2 that in 7 months, by XMAS, we are going to
have a hugely resurgent Nasdaq.

Graphics company Nvidia earnings top expectations

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb 14 (Reuters) - Computer graphics company Nvidia Corp.
(NasdaqNM:NVDA - news), whose chips will be used in a highly touted game system from
Microsoft Corp. (NasdaqNM:MSFT - news), posted a fourth quarter profit that topped Wall
Street expectations, citing its entry into new product markets.

In the fiscal fourth quarter that ended Jan. 28, Nvidia said it earned $31.1 million, or 38 cents
per diluted share, compared to $14.6 million, or 19 cents per share, in the year earlier quarter.

Analysts were on average expecting a profit of 37 cents per share, according to research firm
First Call/Thomson Financial.

Nvidia, which will provide an audio and networking chip for Microsoft's Xbox video game
system, said revenues in the quarter rose 70 percent to $218.2 million from $128.5 million a
year ago. Microsoft has said it expects to begin shipping the much anticipated Xbox in the fall.

Shares of Nvidia rose $3-1/4, or 7.3 percent, to $47-11/16 in regular trade on the Nasdaq
market, and rose a further $2-5/16 in after-hours trade to $50. The stock's 52-week high is $88.

Nvidia also said it will leverage the Xbox system to build a family of products for personal
computers and Internet appliances. In January, the company announced its graphics system
would be included in Apple Computer Inc.'s (NasdaqNM:AAPL - news) new line of Power
Mac G4 computers.

Some analysts have said Nvidia has been able to take market share away from leading graphics
chips maker ATI Technologies Inc.
(Toronto:ATY.TO - news) (NasdaqNM:ATYT -
news) Last month, ATI warned investors that it expected sales and profits to be hurt in 2001
because of softer personal computer demand.
