Today was a very extraordinary day!. Both the group and the SOX-X were up "big time".
It doesn't happen very often, but today, all 31 stocks in the group closed in positive territory. At the top of the list was KLAC with a 16.2 percent gain. At the bottom of the list was COHU with a 1.7 percent gain. Seven of the stocks, KLAC, AMAT, NVLS, LRCX, TER, PLAB and HELX were up over 10 percent. The entire group was up 7.4 percent for the day, and 8.4 percent for the week.
For the SOX-X, 15 of the 16 stocks in the index were up for the day, only MOT was down by 3.3 percent. KLAC, AMAT and NVLS were in the top 3 spots, all with gains of over 13 percent. The SOX-X was up 7.8 percent for the day.
What will be the follow-up tomorrow after such a spectacular day?
