Sure it's a belief: I believe that the statement," There's a hot dog in the fridge." is true. It's a belief. It's just not very interesting, unless I'm notorious for doing rare and spectacular things with hot dogs.

what's a thought? Maybe just the belief that something might be true, you'd might believe that there could be life elsewhere in the universe, say, even though at this point you wouldn't be willing to claim that there, in fact, is

Opinions. I hate opinions. Actually what I hate is the expression that everyone ought to be entitled to their opinion. Meaning what? If someone is of the opinion that all jews are unscrupulous, how is that different from a belief and for what reason ought they to be entitled to it? What does this entitlement buy them? How are opinions and beliefs different? Are we wrong in thinking that they ought to be different because we use this questionable distinction to protect our prejudices from scrutiny?
