that paragraph should be elevated to 'must read' status all over WS....we know all about the smoke and mirrors, but it's nice to see a man of Gross' stature remark on it. all those 'one time, non-recurring charges' that recur every quarter...and not to forget, corporate America is DROWNING in debt...a debt that is supported by what appear to be rapidly shrinking cash flows across a broad swathe of industries. if one looks at the market and its valuation, that's lala land...based on the implicit promise by Greenspan to print as much money as it will take to support the market. an amazing Ponzi game ...
