VIA is currently working on DDR II specification construction work with memory providers. Driven by a 200-400MHz front side bus (FSB), DDR II’s external frequency is expected to start from 400MHz and reach 600-800MHz, and its transmission speed will top 3.2-6.4GB/sec. VIA estimates that the DDR II specification will be officially announced by the end of 2002, and mass production will begin in 2003.
