Thanks Des. That is interesting and, on doing some DD, I came up with this. barney.co.za I might add that I have not seen or heard anything of the venture. The company is not in the phone book. So, it looks to me like it could be a means for someone to get some big bucks into his own pocket at someone else's expense --- in this case the taxpayers of SA and Canada. If you are interested in satellites serving Africa, I can refer you to this: worldspace.com This is another quasi-political organization set up, apparently, to bring the "message of hope" to those deprived of information by the oppressive colonial regimes of the past. As one who seeks enlightenment, I purchased one of these radios. I must say, the jazz is good. I don't listen to the politics.
