Ram, most encouraging to me in terms of potential was that Valence researchers have developed a computer simulation which they believe they can use to identify the most promising materials to develop and test in the lab.

My guess is Jeremy Barker relocated up near UW in Seattle to be near other researchers, and this is the fruit of those labors.

My recollection on the phosphate materials is that they were comprised of lithium, phosphates, and two transition metals. This left them with 171 combinations of these two transition metals to test (according to Lev's statement yesterday), as to which had the best properties for the finished cells (and 'best' means in regards to a whole host of parameters). Hopefully the new research tool can speed up that process. Meanwhile, they have something that they like enough to take to production now.
