ratan - First, what does the "r/t" in "high p/e of 339 r/t" mean?

RE: Dont know if todays earnings are figured in.

One of the problems with p/e numbers for many companies like Ciena, as far as I can determine, is that the "e" is not the "proforma "e", but the "official e". It is not as bad in the case of Ciena, where there are no adjustments for purchased R&D yet, but that will probably come with the Cyras purchase.

Do you know which "e" the p/e numbers posters on this and other Ciena threads use - official or proforma? I think it will make a big difference to the reported p/e.

Appreciate your humility <ggg> (in previous post). Ciena's numbers where extraordinary in this environment. The funny thing is that companies like NT are up on this news. I am fine with that as I own some NT that I would like to sell. But part of Ciena's story is that the legacy business is zero growth. So it would seem that a major portion of NT's business will be zero growth - but what do I know?

LU is really in trouble - losing out to Ciena on the new stuff and facing a hungry tiger in NT on the legacy stuff.

Again, thanks for your price views. Much appreciated.
