I realize people approach the gun issue emotionally. With 80 million gun owners you can imagine the spectrum of opinion and it is no wonder that the issue gets polarized so easily. I can say that I value gun ownership and take the responsibility seriously (a safe for storage). I doubt I would ever seek a concealed weapons permit, but I would always like to have the opportunity to do so if I chose (does this make me pro-choice?;). In one state, Vermont, you need no permit or license. Vermont is liable to be a very peaceful place regardless of this fact, but it certainly doesn't prove that laws are "the" answer. There are many facets that deserve discussion and investigation.
