This round clearly goes to Earlie!

Loral Space & Communications (LOR) found itself in a world of pain in the fourth quarter, losing an astronomic $1.09 billion, or $3.65 per share. Orbiting analysts were looking for a somewhat more modest loss of 49 cents.

All but about $80 million of the losses were associated with Loral's investment in Globalstar Telecommunications (GSTRF), a joint satellite communications venture it founded with Qualcomm (QCOM).
