<<Achieving financial freedom from debt is a superior life goal in my view. Becoming debt free allows you to look at things a whole lot differently, and not just with investing.

Stay on target. Wish you the best in achieving that goal of getting off margin!

Thanks RR ....that is certainly the plan. I still have a tough time coming to terms that i could be 100% debt free, and have 5 times the $$'s I currently have. I remeber one day back in January....remember like it was yesterday...my portfolio had peaked....my wife came home and I said, "honey, we could sell out now, pay off every debt we have including the house, and still have six figures in cash"...She of course said do it.....I of course was thinkng how easy it was to turn $20k into $250k, and thefor I figured why sell now....lets shoot for a million......well....a year later our debt is ten times higher then it was due to my constant buying of the lows that ended up never being the lows, and our stock portfolio is practically nill........very sobering effect. Went from being able to be 100% debt free with alot of money left over to being so deep in debt it will be a long time before we pay off the debt, and our stock holdings are essentially a joke.....Anyway, first I gotta lose the last of margin so I can do little swing trading and make a few dollars hopefully......then it's like you said, pay off debt...first the credit cards, then the final car, then the home eq loan, then the home........It saddens me to think where we could be had I made the right moves a year ago, and all last year, but I have hope that the future will one day again be as bright as it looked a year ago.....thanks for your thoughts
