I had an emotional reaction to your reference to the
"Touched by an Angel" show.

My mother was not religious (as far as I know), but when she became sick and I moved back into our house to care for her and my father, she always looked forward to watching "Touched by an Angel" every Sunday night before she went to bed.

I thought the show was simplistic and sugarcoated, but it seemed to bring some comfort to her, so I guess it's not all bad.
