You have a bad memory... What I remember is this: Intel couldn't ramp the product fast enough to meet demand. Intel never discussed any yield issues with the product, even in Q4 of '99... They started at about 5MU in Q4 '99 then ramped ~10MU a quarter for the next 3 quarters... While it couldn't satisfy the demand at the time, that sounds like a reasonable accomplishment to me...
