It would be no big deal to partition those among CPUs.> I'm talking about performance-critical processes, not the idle ones that only need to be polled once every million cycles or so. <How about doing net burstola with one processor managing the compression, one managing decompression, and one running the application?> How about a single processor which is three times as fast as each of those three cores handling all three tasks by itself? Why do you think dual processor systems don't demonstrate close to 200% of the performance of single processor systems at the same speed? Don't tell me it's the bus ... Tenchusatsu
