Bernie's Option Advisor Has Anyone made money with his picks??

I subscribed to OA for 2 yrs and the info looks good -- I did not see a track record of his recommendations -- this concerned me -- for we know that you do not show it, unless your recs are good.

I did find the following on the SI and wow -- I can do better than this -- 7 yrs for a less than 53.5% return -- just dismal!

I did inquire about the private groups that he sells and his national salesperson, Darry,l did fax me some info and was really interested in selling me, until I asked him about the 2 June 97 Forbes article -- all of the sudden he quit emailing me!

The Forbes article by Mark Hulbert who tracks newsletter performances states the following on page 202 as an example of Unbelieveable Hype :
Schaeffer boasts on page 16 of his marketing letter of his proven money making advice and tops it off with frankly the Options Advisor puts 99% of the other investment advisors to shame." The truth according to Hulbert, who has tracked OA since 1983, is that "Over the 15 year period Options Advisor has turned in a 2.7% annualized loss versus a 15.5% anual return for the stock market".

Bernie's reply as stated on this SI:
As to the Option Advisor performance breakdown, I am pretty much assigned to work on the real-time services (which is where all of those wins came from). You will want to call Kathy Dakin in our office- she takes care of Option Advisor questions. I do know that our 1990-1997 overall compounded return for the Option Advisor is +108.5% and working at a 1% commission rate, it would still be +53.5%. To compare, the overall performance for the real-time services was an average gain of +98.4% for 1996 alone. If you will call, we can discuss the different ones and I can send you track records showing their performance (winning and losing trades).

Wow,

John
