Maverick -- I began looking at the ultra long-haul space after meeting a company that's being created simply to handle bulk traffic from the east coast to the west. Their system is being built with the latest technology and I'd not heard Sycamore mentioned. They looked at NT (Qtera), Corvis (nixed b/c it's proprietary), and Terraworx. They chose the last for many reasons, not the least of which is financing. [Chairman is former head of Nynex and CEO is former head of FLAG --- so connections to Tycom run deep.] Everyone I talked to who knows the ultra long-haul space, including head of 980nm at SDL and VPs at Brightlink Networks (terabit router co) said the concept was really solid. The economics are extremely compelling. I'll have to take a look at SCMR. Pat
