" The negative drug test would indicate he doesn't do drugs currently." Nope. It just means that he didn't within a certain period of time. That can be a few days for cocaine, to weeks for marijuana. And if he was taking something that wasn't being screened for... Anything but a surprise drug test is pretty worthless.
