I think an acquisition of Apple by CPQ is more likely - CPQ already owns 2 OS teams, a database, and so on, and the technology base CPQ has would make better use of the Apple patents. It also could be positioned into CPQ's overall strategy pretty cleanly. Apple is not much of a business play but they have interesting talent and a certain sizzle.

I would expect DELL to get most of GTW's business - they have the direct play and the SMB play. I suspect that the current pricing strategy is aimed as much at GTW as anyone. They get share from CPQ by default - CPQ isn't playing. With the weakness in consumer, DELL's lack of presence there is less of a handicap, but they will need to go after that space soon.
