Oh yeah, I like this quote from the NY Times Microsoft article today:

But with the announcement, Microsoft created as much confusion as it dispelled. Some analysts were convinced that the move demonstrated a new focus on consumer products, while other analysts said that it showed a focus on all non-PC products and services.

It leaves a disheveled organization chart that has Mr. Belluzzo controlling business operations but still reporting to Mr. Ballmer, just like division leaders including James E. Allchin, group vice president for the platforms product group, and Jeff Raikes, group vice president for the productivity and business services group.

"I would think of Ballmer and Belluzzo as co-presidents," said George Godfrey, an analyst for ING Barings.

Yeah, M$FT really has their management act SOLID together, sort of like the XFL: a whole new team of third-tier talent running the show and a strategy consisting mostly of bright colors. New Microsoft President and Chief Bag-Holder Rick Belluzzo, who got passed over for the top slot at HWP for CARLY FIORINA (for chrissake!) before slinking away to ride SGI into the ground. SGI revenue went from $850M to $580M during his very brief Chief Executive Tenure, because all Rick did, apart from collecting his signing bonus, was discover that an assistant bookkeeper had transposed 2 digits.

Yeah, Einstein. Tutt was wrong. And you're right. Did you know that the earth was flat? They've been keeping it from you. You know who I mean by "they", right?

Man, I'm going to enjoy the next couple of years watching MSFT.

Regards,
