Heinz, who is Ted Butler?

speaking of trade tensions, more tales from the front:

----------We hate to beat a dead horse here, but when it comes to confirmation that there may be a bit too much optimism surrounding the prospects for global economic recovery, we continue to focus on heightened trade tensions. According to EU Trade Commissioner Pascal Lamy, the EU is ready to take Japan to the WTO if its new laws surrounding telecommunications deregulation do not meet European standards. During a recent press conference in Tokyo, Lamy said that "If within one month we don't have the necessary assurances, then we have the option of consultation and then litigation inside the (WTO) dispute settlement mechanism." Remember, the US has also been engaged in similar disputes with Japan over the NTT monopoly, but the European complaints seem a bit more timely when considering the ever-increasing skepticism surrounding the ability of the eurozone economy to become an engine of world growth.-------
