| Camille Paglia is such a breath of fresh air. She is openly gay, and admittedly voted for Nader, but she hates the feminazis as much as I do, so I love her. I am a feminist, and proud of it, but I don't hate men, and I don't think women are better than men. I do think that there are major differences between men and women, but I don't think that any individual should be held back based on their gender. If the day ever comes that a woman can compete in the NBA or the NFL, as an equal, I hope she won't be excluded, although I will be surprised if that day ever comes. In the meantime, I don't approve of lowering physical standards so that women can get traditionally male jobs. But I know for a fact that I am smarter than most men, and I'm glad to see in my lifetime more doors opening for smart women. May the day come when all these arguments seem quaint, even incomprehensible! And Camille Paglia is on the same wavelength. We also agree that the feminazi obsession with abortion has destroyed a lot of the credibility of the feminist movement. Of course, she's gay, and I'm married, so maybe that has something to do with why we aren't obsessed with abortion. |
