Looking of more evidence that circuit-switching is the culprit:

1) Alcatel, who has very little exposure to US circuit-switched market, maintains guidance:

2) Corning has exposure to SONET, though I don't know how much:
corning.com
They affirm earlier guidance:
corning.com
"We are continuing with our previously announced plan to respond to the softer market. Our process to reallocate optical fiber volume to customers we had been unable to supply is firmly on track. Also, we continue to experience strong demand for MetroCorâ„¢, our fiber solution for optical communications in the metropolitan marketplace. As a result, we remain confident that our quarter one results will be within our previously announced guidance range of $0.28 to $0.31."
