Do you think there is a correlation between Bush taking large sums of money from the oil companies and pushing to drill in the ANWR?

Is there a shred of evidence there?

There is a lot more then a shred of evidence that Bush's campaign got a lot of money from oil companies and that he is pushing to drill in the ANWR. To my knowledge there is no evidence that there was any quid pro quo. The oil companies gave money to someone who would be sympathetic to their ideas. Just like if I was running for president I would take money from the NRA and seek to reduce federal gun control but I would not be taking a bribe. I would not be trying to reduce gun control because of the NRA contribution.
