Defense stocks spike up

Defense contractor Boeing (BA: news, msgs) is now up 35 cents at $60.50.
Just before newswires reported U.S. airstrikes were launched against Iraq, the
Dow Industrials ($INDU: news, msgs) component was trading down
approximately 10 cents at $60.05. Among other defense stocks, Northrop
Grumman (NOC: news, msgs) is up 38 cents at $90, Lockheed Martin (LMT:
news, msgs) is adding $1.11 at $36.80 and General Dynamics (GD: news,
msgs) is tacking on 64 cents at $69.55. Ahead of the news, those stocks were
trading around $89.40, $36 and $68.80, respectively.
