HJ - well, I'll admit to being bipolar about DELL almost from the get-go. DELL is an extremely well run company with a focus and corporate sense of mission that may be unmatched in any technology company I have seen. You can't help but admire that.

But I have been saying for more than 2 years that they need to do some things differently. Since both meathead and I have friends at DELL, we are sometimes aware of the ebb and flow of some potential ideas about changing the business, as they roll through the company. I am disappointed when good ideas, which happen to align with my notion of what DELL needs to do, fail to get realized through what meat characterized as a risk averse management style. When that happens repeatedly, combined with a decline in the stock price which successful implementation of those thoughts might have averted, I can't help being negative.

Still, hope springs eternal and I look for the next idea to spring forth. That's where the "blue sky" thinking comes in.

As to the CCs, I have been selling them (and sometimes puts) on this and most of my other holdings. For the most part, that is just a way to enhance my return, but on a couple of occasions I sold near term in the money calls with the intention of being called away - in that case it effectively increases the sale price.
